The Kingston Water Department will begin the flushing program on October 19, 2021. Flushing will be done weekly, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 8:00AM and 3:00PM.
All flushing will be done weather permitting and we expect this phase of the work to continue for several weeks. Areas of flushing will be Smith’s Ln, Ocean Hill Estates, the south end of Main St and the Rocky Nook area.
Customers may notice a drop in pressure while the hydrants are flowing. Special care should be taken regarding discoloration of water. This may occur if you draw water while we are flushing water near your home. If this occurs, you should wait until we are out of the area and then run cold water for several minutes from the faucet closest to the meter.
It is important to check for discoloration prior to washing laundry.
