The Gray’s Beach Park Playground project site work for the drainage structure installations to assist in alleviating water drainage issues was complete last fall and early winter. Due to State and Federal funding grant award and resources, the project needed to be completed in phases. The remaining portion of Phase 1 construction expected to begin by end of April when the larger components of the play structures are to be delivered and installed. As most of us know, during this past year, there have been some extreme delayed times in materials needed for many things; playground equipment was no exception to the current volatility of the marketplace. This portion of Phase 1 will also include the installation of the engineered wood fiber surfacing. This is expected to be completed no later than Memorial Day weekend, and the playground will open to the public.
Phase 2 of construction is anticipated to begin in early July. This will involve installation of the Poured In Place surfacing , and the installation of the final pieces of playground equipment. The playground will close temporarily during Phase 2, which should take about two weeks to complete.
Gray’s Beach Park Stickers for residents are still available to purchase. Non-resident stickers are sold out.
