The purpose of the LMR Plan is to provide a "roadmap" for the critical steps needed to make the Landing and Landing Road more resilient while sustaining the historic value and mission of this working waterfront from the impacts of coastal flooding both today, and into the future. In the long-term, the LMR Plan will not only enhance and protect the Town of Kingston’s historic maritime resources but will serve as a community model/protype for other communities addressing sustainable coastal resilience issues. The "roadmap" that GZA prepared includes: 1) a detailed narrative report/plan; 2) Esri GIS layers including relevant hazard and site information; 3) a conceptual design plan set, presenting relevant proposed flood mitigation and resilience site improvements on the Landing property; and 4) roadway flood mitigation alternatives. This "roadmap" is suitable to clearly present a project plan, estimate implementation costs and schedule and support a regulatory pre-application meeting.
